VEGETABLE GARDENING CLASSES: Free, no registration required!   Open to the public.   Classes are held in two locations!

NEWARK GROWS:  Volunteers are at The Canal Market in Newark on the first and third Fridays, May through October, Volunteers distribute free plants and growing information.  The mission is to educate, empower and engage community members to grow their own food. 

Located at 771 E. Main Street in Newark, OH.  Master Garden Volunteers work in the gardens on Monday and Thursday mornings and are available then to provide a garden tour, if desired. There are 20 different kinds of gardens including hugelkultur, a diabetes garden, natives, phenology, and a pantry garden to provide fresh produce for the Salvation Army Food Pantry. The garden is open from dawn to dusk, May through October.

OPEN HOUSE AT THE LEARNING GARDEN: Designated as a day to showcase our Learning Garden, the public is invited to walk through the various gardens when they are at their peak. Meet the volunteers who have designed and maintained the gardens.  Musical entertainment, free food, and activities for children are planned for this day.  The Open House will be Saturday, July 20, 2019.

HARTFORD FAIR:  Meet us at the Hartford Fair. Our Master Gardener Volunteers have a booth to share educational fact sheets and answer gardening questions. The Hartfold Fair is in Croton, OH and will be held the first full week of August.

Plant Sale: Our yearly plant sale is located on Hudson Avenue during The Historic Hudson  community yard sales on Saturday, May 11.  Check out our website at  for details.
